Moulan Rouge

Was a very captivating movie. The story was interesting and all, but what mostly got to me was the scenes of brilliant dancing and music. These scenes were so upbeat and overwhelming of the senses; i dont know if thats why i liked them so much, but i did.

LAUSD

I dont really think its fair to just go and fire teachers with less seniority, but i guess it has to be done. Budget cuts are inevitable now that we've gotten ourselves into such debt. Everybody is selfish and closeminded and unwilling to vote on bills that might actually help us. I hate politics. Every politician is bought out by some industry just to pass bills that favor that industry. Thus, no bills are passed to actually help us, only to benefit a select few. Like the bailout, it was only passed to pay the heads of banks, and now the banks wont tell us what the bailout money actually went to. Hopefully the stimulus will actually impove something.

Installation art is the use of sculptural materials and other interesting material to transform a space or, arguably, an area. Installation art is not necessarily confined to gallery spaces and can be any material intervention in everyday public or private spaces.

from Wikipedia:
Laurie Anderson (born Laura Phillips Anderson, on June 5, 1947, in Glen Ellyn, Illinois) is an American experimental performance artistand musician who plays violin and keyboards and sings in a variety of experimental music and art rock styles. Initially trained as a sculptor, Anderson did her first performance-art piece in the late 1960s

Music Videos

Pokemon
I think this movie was a cute little comedy. The only thing that would make it professional would be better editing.

Music Video
This was a really psychadelic spacey video.

I Wanna Be Free
I wasnt really diggin this video, it still needs alot of work.

The Lamb Story
Meh.

Koyanasatski

This movie was very visually stimulating. It showed scenes from around the country. Great scenes of daily life and the empire we have built for us. In a way the movie did have a plot, it showed us our lives in a way we dont usually look at it. The music also added emotion. This movie really opened my eyes.

Music

Kelly, Alexa, and Tessa sang the pokemon song. Woo. I think it was pretty good.

Ben's group's rap song was well produced with funky fresh beats.

Chris and Isaac created an emotional piece with piano and good flows.

Devin also had a sick song, its like something snoop would come out with.

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

In media arts we are watching the Diving Bell and Butterfly.
It is a film that shows the perspective of a poet that suffered a stroke and can only communicate through blinks. I like the way they used camera angles and other effects to display the emotion of the movie. It is a very well communicated piece. I think i might go and actually get his book.
